Draft Mike
Sullivan
Governor
We believe that U.S. Attorney Michael
Sullivan should be the next Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
In a time when government and corruption are nearly synonymous, Beacon
Hill needs a leader who has spent his career fighting against corruption
and in support of law and order. Throughout his career, Mike has been an
innovator and reformer.
Mike has the working class background, having
grown up in Holbrook, to understand the plight of the middle class in
these uncertain economic times. Mike also has the résumé and experience to
lead the Commonwealth as its chief executive.

and the right time for Massachusetts, please click ENDORSE and help us to
show Mike that Massachusetts needs him now.

ABOUT MIKE
Michael
Sullivan grew up in the middle-class town of Holbrook, Massachusetts. He
took a job at Gillette as a stock clerk to put himself through Boston
College, where he graduated Cum Laude. He went on to earn his Law Degree
from Suffolk University Law School. After practicing law as an Associate
Attorney with Bolles & Prichard, he was a partner in McGovern & Sullivan
from 1989-1995.
Mike's first foray into elective politics was
becoming a State Representative in 1990. Mike would serve in the General
Court for 3 terms before being tapped by Governor Bill Weld to be District
Attorney for Plymouth County in 1995. Mike then won election to that post
in 1996, serving until being appointed U.S. Attorney (MA Division) in
2001. Mike would also assume the role of Acting-Director of the Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) in 2006 while continuing to serve as
U.S. Attorney.
As Plymouth County D.A., Mike instituted
numerous reforms which expanded the role of the office and created
partnerships with federal and local authorities. As a testament to the
effectiveness of Mike's reforms, the D.A.'s office was able to resolve a
number of unsolved homicides. He also became a leader in the fight against
child abuse, domestic violence and elder abuse.
As U.S. Attorney, Mike was in charge of 200
attorneys and has refused to shy away from the high-profile cases. He has
prosecuted the pharmaceutical industry for fraud, led the "Operation
Tarmac" investigation into Logan Airport employees lying about their
immigration status, and in now leading the cases against State Sen. Dianne
Wilkerson and Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner following their arrests
by the FBI. He has prosecuted terrorists, including Abdullah Khadr, a
Canadian who is alleged to have sold arms to the Taliban, and Richard
Reid, the so-called "shoe bomber" who attempted to take down an airliner.
